Rebecca Lieb is a strategic advisor, research analyst, keynote speaker, author, and columnist. Her areas of specialization are digital marketing and media, with a concentration in content strategy, content marketing and converged media.
She works with many of the world's leading brands on digital marketing innovation. Clients range from start-up to non-profits to Fortune 100 brands and regulated industries, including Facebook, Home Depot, Nestlé, Anthem, Adobe, Honeywell, DuPont, Fidelity, Gannett, IBM, Save the Children, Pinterest, Cisco, ad and PR agencies, and The Federal Reserve Bank of New York.
Earlier, I was Altimeter Group's digital advertising and media analyst, where I published what remains the largest extant body of research on content marketing, content strategy, and content's role in paid, owned and earned media. Prior to that, I was vice president at Econsultancy, where I launched the company's U.S. operations and grew the business to profitability in a year's time.
I was VP and editor-in-chief of The ClickZ Network for over seven years. I spent part of that time running the redoubtable SearchEngineWatch.com, too. I also do a ton of public speaking on topics related to interactive marketing, advertising and digital media, as well as consulting on digital content strategy and search engine optimization.
In my copious free time, I write books. The Truth About Search Engine Optimization was published by Pearson Publishing's Financial Times imprint in 2009 - and it instantly became a best seller on Amazon. An updated edition will publish soon. My most recent book, Content Marketing, published in late 2011.
While I struggle to find the time to really put together my own site, you can meanwhile learn more about me on LinkedIn or Facebook or good old Google. Or read my regular columns in iMediaConnection and MarketingLand, or my occasional contributions to Advertising Age. I blog, too.
On the subject of thought leadership, I'm in the process of adding a page to this site linking to media that cite my work, research and opinions. I'm in the process of mopping up the code. Meanwhile, in a fairly appalling abuse of social media best practices, I lazily +1 articles that quote me.
